My friend Nate Worden just sent me this article written by Chuck Colson. It is worth a read, for even as one who might be categorized under the ‘religious right’ he is wise to play the role of a prophet.

Interesting comments by Colson. Too bad he couldn’t add the environment to his list of Christian concerns.

Joel,When I got this Breakpoint, I thought it would be a good one to send you, for I thought he was right on. As to the previous comment about Colson’s environmental concerns; he has done great good in articulating where we need to be involved in so many other areas of life, ie, prison ministry and the families of prisoners, which is where he started after being in prison himself. I am thankful for his and Francis Schaeffer’s prophetic visionary articulations of how we should live as believers. I’m sure if you asked him, he would assure you that he is in favor of protecting God’s creatures and creation; indeed, he already speaks for the unborn, the aged and handicapped. We do need more tree-hugging believers, but I’m not going to expect Colson to make that his agenda.
